Tanamera (a Review)

Today I want to introduce the Malaysian brand Tanamera to you -Tanamera, in the language of the Malays, literally means Red Earth. Quite a good name for products whose raw materials are sourced from the rich soil of the tropical rainforest. Back here I showed you a few products already and talked a little bit about this wonderful brand. Today I want to go more into detail 🙂

All products by Tanamera are formulated naturally and the use of artificial coloring, perfume, chemical actives and preservatives is avoided. Not only that, also all packaging material is recycled, and the products are not tested on animals. A bunch of good reasons to give this brand a thumbs up. What else? Compared to other lotions, shampoos and soaps, very little packaging is used for these products and hence, at least one less plastic bottle is potentially polluting our oceans.

But let me tell me more about the brand the products that I got to try.

I tried the Hibiscus body soap, the body scrub, bath salt and the face mask from the same series. I think the products are mainly made for Asian women who like to have a slightly lighter skin. However, they have a whole lot of other benefits too. Hibiscus is used for various allergic eczemas and other skin conditions and is also found to improve skin flexibility and elasticity, as well as creates higher moisture levels in the skin. It contains vitamin C, anthocyanins, and polyphenols. Furthermore the beautiful flower contains high amounts of vitamin E and hibiscus seeds contain a high concentration of lipid soluble antioxidants.

It was the first time ever that I tried any producs with hibiscus and it was my first time trying Tanamera products. Both convinced me 🙂

The mask is my favorite; it helps to remove and reduce pore clogging, thus improving the general look and condition of skin. Like the healing earth masks that I usually use, it needs to be mixed with a little bit of water. When applied to the face, it hardens and can  be removed with warm water. Or, as I love to do it, it can be rubbed off the face like a peeling. My skin feels great and definetly clearer after using the hibiscus mask.

The Tanamera clarifying body scrub is made from organic brown sugar, enriched with hibiscus exfoliater, plant oils, natural butters and phyto bioactives. Like the face mask it leaves a soft and nice feeling and makes my skin feel my cleaner.

The hibiscus body soap is mainly made to brighten skin and give you a radiant, luminous glow. There are a high percentage of phyto bioactives with skin lightening properties combined with hibiscus exfoliater in the soap which makes it an excellent choice for people with dull, tired skin.I am not intersted in lighter skin so I use the soap carefully. However, so far I cannot really see that it makes my skin lighter, rather I just really like the creamy texture of the soap and how easy it is to apply. I definetly prefer a hard soap like this one to the liquid shower gels most brand produce. For my face it is the same by the way. I became a huge fan of the Dudu Osun black soap that I got to try a few weeks back (I wrote a little bit about it here) and that I use every morning and every evening ever since. It improved my skin sooo much! Love it! And it has NO plastic at all! I do not think I will ever go back to those liquid make up remover that come in a not-at-all sustainable plastic bottle.

Anyway, the last product I tried was the tropical bath which is ideal for the treatment of blemished skin and for restoring the natural balance. Hibiscus bath powder combined with kaffir lime essential oil smells great the same time treat your skin with its skin moisturizing and softening effect. Tanamera tropical bath powder combines phytotherapy (treatment using wild growing herbs, plants and flowers) with pure Himalayan rock salt and skin softening ingredients.

Tanamera is a brand from Malaysia by the way. You can purchase their products in Malaysia directly from their Webshop. In Europe Spa Vivent is the sole distributor (they also have the black soap I wrote about…), and in Germany you can shop their products online here.

I will make sure to get hand on some more of their products since I am trying to use less plastic in my cosmetics routine. I already cancelled shampoo in plastic bottles from my bath tub and I am looking carefully at how the cans and tubes of my face creams are made (and how they can be recycled). Never forget that we do only have this one planet to live on and that YOU have the choice to make it last every single day!

And now let me know – have you heard of this brand before? Have you used their products yet? And do you know any other cosmetics brands which go without much plastic? I would love to know!

These products sound great. I have been in the market for a good face mask, especially since it is summer and my pores clog up a lot more this time of year. And I love that they don’t use plastic!

Wow, seems like wonderful products! I’m really surprised with the packages, such a smart idea:) I think I should go for some cosmetics shopping, I’m really trying to find some good and natural face lotion, but actually I also really like to make one myself. Sometimes I just wash my face during the day with simple lotion made of a lemon and water, or some herbal tea, like camomile or mint – perfect for my skin:) And now I want to try to make a lotion out of those country flowers like papaver, bluets and camomile. Have a wonderful week, hugs:)))
