Summer Favorites (Beauty/Food)

Summer is officially here and I just have to share a few of my current Summer favorites with you. I have a colorful mixture of beauty and food products for you – all are organic and most are fair trade. All products have been used by me in the past months, weeks or days and are my honest recommendations 🙂

So here we go with the (probably) yummiest one: The raw chocolate company

As most of you know, I do not eat any refined sugar since January 1st 2016, and this basically resulted in me not eating chocolate any more. Most of these raw sugarfree chocolates out there are just not my cup of tea – they are too fruity, not creamy enough, I miss either the sweetness or the crunchyness or simply the taste. UNTIL I got this package from the raw chocolate company which completly made me change my mind when it comes to raw chocolate! Their chocolates are sweetened with coconut sugar and they had the amazing idea to blend an ingredient in their products which I totally love: lucuma! The vanoffe bars and the vanoffe mulberries with lucuma are truely too good to be true. I usually share everything very fair with my husband, and I am always considered about him getting enough of what we are eating or snacking on; however, this was the first time, I secrectly tried to hide the vanoffe mulberries from him so that I could have just a few more for myself 😉

Number two are these two products from I+M

Both bodylotion and showergel contain daisies! Have you ever heard of cosmetics made with daisises? I haven’t before I got to try these ones from i+m and I found it like the cutest most beautiful thing ever, to cream my body with daisies (plus argan oil, avocado, jojoba etc.etc.). The smell is amazing – flowery yet not too strong at all. Just perfectly light which makes these two products just the perfect bodycare for warm Summer days (and nights).

Okay, now this one was meant for my daughter but I think I love it as much as she does: freeze dried fruits from Freche Freunde. I got to know freeze dried fruits this year (which may be a little late!?) and totally fell in love with them. They are great for smoothies, in salads or just as a snack whenever no fresh fruits are available. My daughter loves them and I use them as special treats for when we like go for a picnic or when we are on a long train ride (like me my daughter eats no refined sugar, white flour, animal products etc. so products like these are our “candy” 🙂 )

Do you know Kongy Sponges? I did not until a few months back – and I actually regret that I did not know them before! First of all the sponge is 100% natural and biodegradable, it is suitable for all skin types, hyper sensitive to your skin and cleans perfectly. You do not need any additional soap when using the sponge, and nevertheless you will feel super clean after using it, thanks to the gently massage/scrub (konjac sponge exfoliates dead cells while wiping the face and body), plus blood circulation is stimulated and skin cells regenerate. The sponge is super soft and  leaves behind a colloid film to nourish and protect the skin. I truely feel and see a difference in the clarity of my skin since I am using it.
By the way, konjac is a perennial herb in aroid family and since ancient times, it has been widely used as a medical and edible natural plant in Japan.

This one should actually have been in my Favorite Summer Drinks post, but unfortunaly I did not know the product at the time yet. So here it is today: SpreeTee. SpreeTee is like an instant ice tea powder. From one of these small (and pretty) boxes you can make 20 liters of organic, sugarfree, healthy, and instant ice tea. They have a variety of flavors and I like the rooisbos best – with some ice, a little bit of lemon and a ten minutes work-and-baby-break on the balcony it is truely heaven 😉

Okay, the before last: Black soap from Tanamera. I told you about Tanamera back here and I also already wrote a few words about how much I love the black soap. I got this one via Spa Vivent and I am super excited about cooperating with the sole distributor of Tanamera products in Europe. I use the black soap every morning and every evening since about three months now and I never want to live without it anymore. No plastic, no chemicals, pure nature and a perfectly clean and clear skin for me. Four times thumbs up from me!

Last but not least I’ve got to try these two products from nu3– an aloe vera juice (just pure organic aloe) and a super yummy tea blend. I love to include aloe vera into my beauty routine and use it between others to blend it up into my healing earth face masks or to massage it into my skin after a sunbath. I also use it in my smoothies (not too much though because I do not like the taste). Whenever I can I buy some fresh aloe leaves but our organic store does not always have them, so a juice like this is just the perfect alternative. The tea is a really nice blend of blackberry leaves, nettle, rose hip, licorice root (which I love!) and many others – super refreshing and yummy when enjoyed cold.

Wow, sooo many products, such a long post! I could not leave any of these out, sorry for that 😉

Have you tried any of these products? Do you know any of them? I would love to know!

For now, I wish you all the best for the new week and loads of Summer joy and sunshine 🙂

Love your summer favorites! I am also currently using a Konjac sponge which I got from Sephora Philippines. I’m loving it so far. It looks kind of weird at first and I thought it will be harsh on my skin since it was hard at first but I love at how soft and gentle it is to my skin after dipping it into warm water. And the raw chocolates! Oh I wish they’re also available in the Philippines. My fiance would love to try those. 🙂

Oh and about hotels near the airport, I don’t think I know a good budget friendly one that’s just a stone away but you might want to try hotels around Mall of Asia. It’s relatively near and the Mall of Asia has good food places to try out too. Maybe Red Planet Hotel would be okay. I checked in to Red Planet Hotel before but in Davao City and it’s good. Oh and just a tip, when commuting around Manila, do use Uber or GrabTaxi/GrabCar applications instead of the usual normal hailing of the cab. It’s safer that way IMO. 🙂
