I am proud to present the first (of many yet to come) fair fashion outfit with ThokkThokk.
Ever since I stopped buying clothes at stores such as H&M, Zara, and others which are exploiting their labor force and the environment, to make clothes loaded with chemicals which lasts only for like one or two seasons, I shopped second hand. I decided to shop second hand because 1. it is cheap, 2. I think it is one of the most sustainable ways of shopping – nothing new needs to be produced and yet no ressources are exploited, 3. it is fun.
However, the downside of second hand shopping is that you are still trapped in the fast fashion movement. Since the clothes are cheap, you are tempted to buy a lot. So you are tempted to buy pieces that you like for one Summer but maybe not for a second one. And hence, clothes are still being treated like food or toilet paper; you use them once and go on with a new piece the next day.
In the past few weeks I have been thinking a lot about the whole topic of decluttering, about slow fashion and about sustainability. I have soooo much to share with you on these topics and I will do – step by step 🙂
Taking one step ahead, I decided to share more fair fashion brands with you on my blog. Fair fashion in most cases is slow fashion. It is slow fashion because most fair fashion brands design timeless pieces that you can wear year after year after year. It is slow fashion because fair fashion pieces are more expensive than a piece from the sale rack at H&M so you will think more carefully about what to buy and what not to buy. And it is slow fashion in that most pieces are actually produced slower; under fair conditions, where the garment workers are allowed to take breaks and do not have to work 12 hours shifts.
The first brand I want to share with you is ThokkThokk.
ThokkThokk is a German brand, yet they ship FREE worldwide and have an English website so it is definetly worth having a look at their site (here). All pieces from their collections are 100% fair trade and organic. Especially when looking for a shirt with a fun print or for any basic tee, ThokkThokk is the right place to go.
Here, I am wearing this striped oversized shirt with my rather old grey pencil skirt. I have been looking for a basic tee which goes with everything and yet always looks great for quite a while now. This one here is exactly what I have been looking for. I wear it a lot with shorts and jeans, no matter if it is for visiting the garden or the city center. For the blog, I decided to dress it up a little and paired it with my pencil skirt and a necklace from my friend Lea Marie Franck (she is making super beautiful jewellery from walnut wood).
Looking at these picutres I think I need to get a haircut rather sooner than later 😀
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this post and I am curious to know your opinion on this look, fair fashion and slow fashion! I cannot wait to read your comments.

You know what, today I went second-hand shopiping with my sister and I wanted to buy a pencil skirt so badly, but I didnt find anything… actually I’ve found one but it didnt fit me:P But I bought a nice blouse, jeans and another blouse. I’m starting a new job in the weekend high school for adults and I really have to buy more elegant, classy things, I want to look like a serious teacher:) Maybe I will find more things next week. But you look great and I sooo love the make up! You look really pretty and feminin. Have a lovely weekend, hugs:)))
I definitely want your necklace! I like such simple and cool things!

Liebe Larissa,
