Finally it’s time for vacation!
My last vacation was exactly one year ago (well, my last “real” vacation… I had a bunch of smaller trips this year but nothing big though) and I could totally feel my feet getting more and more itchy for some adventures and travel. The other day I finally packed my bags and went off to the airport to take a flight to Istanbul… from Istanbul I took another flight to… I will let you know in one of my next posts 😀
By the way, my vacation last year was to the region of Kurdistan in Iran. In case you missed the posts and pictures from that trip, feel free to check them out here and in the travel section of my blog.
Today, I want to show you some of my favorites when it comes to tavelling, especially when travelling long distance. The most important things to me when it comes to long distance flights are: a comfy outfit. Enough food. Enough water. And of course a bag to carry all my food and water, my big socks, etc. etc. etc.
Even when I am wearing very comfy clothes, I still like to somehow look okay and not like wearing my pj, so I chose some loose pants and my super cozy sweater from ThokkThokk. I wrote more about the awesome fair trade brand ThokkThokk back here. This sweater really is the coziest one and it was the perfect piece for the long flight. Thokkthokk has worldwide free shipping and really is worth a click.
I also brought my new backpack! I was looking for a fair trade backpack and realized that it is not that super easy to find one. Finally I found ansvar which is not only fair trade and GOTS certified but also super pretty. I got it just a few days before we left fot our trip and I was so happy it arrived on time. I am sure you will see more of it on the blog very soon 🙂
Next to a good backpack and comfy clothes, I always make sure to bring enough healthy food with me when I travel. To be honest, the meals served in the airplane never truely satisfy me and I usually bring fresh fruit and sometimes also veggies to snack on during the flight. I also always make sure to bring a glass or stainless steel bottle which I can fill with water or tea on the airplane. Like that I avoid using too much plastic 🙂
The pretty stainless steel bottle that you can see on the pictures here is actually a thermos which is not only great for hot tea but also to keep cold drinks cold. It is s such a life saver on this vacation! You can find it at Gary Mash® – a vegan and fair onlineshop.
Et voila, that’s it for today. I know I told some of you where I am right now already, and some of you follow my private instagram so you may know too. But those of you who do not know, feel free to guess; I travelled for 24 hours, it is super hot here and pretty rainy to be honest, and I am on an island which starts with B. So what’s your guess :D?
And by the way, sorry for the bad quality of the pictures. I learned that an airport really is not the perfect setting to take blog pictures – not enough day light at all.
Have a great week ahead everyone!
