New In this Spring (Organic Cosmetics)

Finally a new beauty post! I decided to share with you some new/old-but-new-for-me brands this year. I have been a little lazy so far… well I posted about this super cool brand called Fair Squared and an everyday make up with Lavera but that was pretty much it (find the posts here and here). From now on you will see more different brands and more different products. Plus you will get an update from time to time from my all time favorites such as Lavera or Benecos.

Today I want share a few products I tried this Spring and that I found worth sharing with you 🙂

Because of our business I am visiting quite a few trade fairs for organic products and luckily I always get the change not only to try interesting foods and drinks but also cosmetics. This is also the reason why it will be much easier for me to show you more different brands from now on.

Okay, but now to a few new products I recently tried and tested.

First of all there is Dr. Hauscka. Those of you who follow my blog since a while, know that I am quite a fan of Dr. Hauschka products. I love their rose day cream, their body oils and their bath essences… especially the lavender ones. Currently I am using the Moor Lavender Body Oil and I love both the smell and the rich and creamy texture of the oil. This really is the perfect product during times of stress, or any time you want to feel warm and protected. I love to take a moor lavender bath first and spoil myself with the oil afterwards 🙂

By the way, I also really love the sample sizes from Dr. Hauschka and I always use them when travelling. They have the perfect size for around a week of vacation. I always have a sample of my favorite day creams in the house so that I  can use it, whenever I am on the road.

Hmmmm… Primavera! Primavera is  brand I am showing you for the first time today, however, I know their essential oils since I am child. My mother used to put drops of lavender essential oils on my pillow for a good night sleep when I was like 5 years old and I remember we always had essential oils from Primavera in the house at any time. When I grew older I used their tea tree oils on my pimples and their ylang ylang oils when I felt dizzy. Essential oils have always been part of my life and I really wonder why I never talked about them on the blog so far! I think I should make a post on how I use essential oils sometime soon… 🙂

Currently Primavera is celebrating their 30th birthday and they came up with this really wonderfully smelling blend called “much love” (Alles Liebe) for this special occasion. It is somehow a blend of roses and fruits and smells amazingly good! Right now I am mainly using the air spray but in Winter when I turn on the heater, I like to put a wet towel on the heater and add a few drops of essential oil to it. Like this the smell is spread nicely and the air in the room is less dry.

Now, lets continue with Kneipp. I know the brand since forever. However. To be honest, I never payed attention to the fact that it is actually natural cosmetics! Seriously, I always believed its a convential brand and did not pay any attention to their products. When I saw the brand on an organic trade fair the other day, my first thought was “oh, but they are not natural, what are they doing here?” until I figured out they actually are 😀

There is nothing better than a nice bath on a Sunday night, after having spent the day outside in the sunshine. Oh, well maybe there is; a nice bath smelling of jasmin and a Kneipp facemask on your skin.

And to the last one of this quick overview. Tanamera. Tanamera is a brand I really did never hear of – until some two weeks ago on a trade fair. Actually, I have been thinking about using more block kind of soap instead of liquid soaps because its so much less plastic and trash! Trying to live a more sustainable lifestyle, I also try not to use too much plastic. We all know that our oceans will be dead very soon if we continue using as much plastic as most of us do in their everyday life. So better take action NOW and avoid it whereever you can! I am doing pretty good when it comes to grocery shopping; I rarely ever buy anything coverd in plastic. But with cosmetics it is a different story. Using hard soap instead of liquid one is one easy way to avoid plastic. The soaps from Tanamera are made for both face and body. They have soaps you can use as a face and body scrub and even soaps you can use as a face mask (I have not tried that one yet…) and you can of course also use them for your hands. I am amazed by these products and I think I will share more about this brand in the future. Also, I plan to share more on sustainable ways of using cosmetics, sustainable brands and plastic free products very soon!

For today, I hope you enjoyed this overview of some of my new finds this Spring. Do you know any of them? Have you tried any of them? Did I make you curious :)? Let me know in the comments!

These all sound like such wonderful products! I have been working on slowly replacing things in my home with natural versions, like this. I really like the sound of that soap. I hadn’t thought before about using bar soap to avoid excess plastic, great point to bring up!

If only they are available in my country as well. 🙁 But the Philippines also has some organic and natural locally made cosmetics. I have slowly been trying them out. 🙂

First off, I’m so glad I found your blog because I’ve been trying to delve deeper into organic, all natural products lately! I’ve recently come across some of Dr. Hauscka’s products online, but have never tried them before. Perhaps when I’m finished with my current Andalou Naturals, which has been working okay for me, not the best. Although I love their haircare products! Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you’re having a great start to your week so far!
