My Purchases (March and April 2016)

Those of you who follow my blog since a while already know about the “my purchases” posts. I do these posts to critcally analyze my behaviour as a consumer and to try to get better in how, where and what I shop (clothes and shoes only!).

You can find my Janury and February 2016 purchases post HERE and when you search for “purchases” you can find all the other ones. So in the beginning these posts have been to make me buy LESS. Then it was about learning to buy from ethical brands or second hand only and to stop buying from all those bad brands like H&M, Zara, etc. who are responsible for the death of hundreds and thousands of people all over the world, working under terrible conditions in the textile industry. For 2016 my goal was not only to buy second hand or ethical only but also to buy only the things I really need/want. So I make plans for every season for what I need/want and I try to buy these things only. This is a though one for me because I really tend to buy things I see, find pretty and have a good price. So for March and April I had on my list: a camel coat, Spring shoes, and jeans. Maybe also a pencil skirt. The camel coat and the pencil skirt did not make it and they are both still on my list (I better buy a camel coat in Fall…).

I bought the jeans and shoes that I had on my list in March and April. Nothing else. I am very happy with the jeans because I have been wanting some like that in a long time. I am also very happy with the shoes, even though I guess I exaggerated a little. I bought one pair of boots (big love!) and three pair of Spring shoes -loving the blush loafer and the ones with the golden tip but I do not really know what to think of the brown loafers. Are they are little too bourgeois? I somehow feel so. Also, do I really need three pairs of Spring shoes? I am glad I have them but I think one or two would have made it too. So a penatly point for that. Otherwise I think I did a quite good job. All in all I paid 106 Euro. For 4 pairs of shoes and two jeans I think this is really really good.

Everthing I bought is second hand! When I buy shoes second hand, I make sure they are only worn once. Actually, you can find a lot of shoes second hand that are not even worn once! The blush loafers and the boots were both new. Someone bought them, decided not to wear them and sold them again. Good for me.

For May and June I really would love to find a nice blush oversized blouse and a white oversized blouse. Also, I am still looking for a blue pencil skirt and/or a pencil skirt with some kind of nice print. I plan to buy second hand only. Currently I am pretty short in money (since we just opened our own business all our money is eaten up by business-related things) so second hand is just fine for me right now.

That was it for my March and April purchases 🙂

I see you are very conscious in the context of your purchases – you are definitely a role model! I like what you bought – the cut and the colours of the denims are really perfect!

Such great finds here and how awesome you were able to find a couple of pairs that hadn’t even been worn yet! I’ve thrifted a number of times, each time I found such great prices for an amazing deal. My latest was a white button down skirt from Theory for only $20! Thanks so much for sharing your haul with us and I hope you’re having a great week so far!

Great choices! I especially like those flats, the pair in the middle, so my style:) I’m plannig to buy two pairs of flats in the next days, I’ve already know what I want and I think tomorrow I will go shopping:) And I need a pair of jeans too. I should definitely visit a second hand:) On my blog it was a white bean spread, I added a green pesto to this – you should definitely give it a try, with pesto it is such a new taste:) I haven’t made a traditional hummus though, but I’m thinkin about it since I love those kind of vegetarian spreads. Now I”m drinkin a fresh veggie juice, I got a really fine juicer from my husband on my birthday – what a great gift:) And how is your business? Hope its going great as far:) Have a wonderful weekend, hugs:)))

It’s the first time I come across your blog and I’m very glad I did
I love second hand shopping, and I really like the fact that you live a concious lifestyle. Lots of people don’t have that mentality, it’s nice to see you want to inspire people to do that.
Your purchases are so pretty. I love the ankle boots, they’re my favorite.

Love your recent finds. There are also a lot of thrift shops in the Philippines but sometimes it can be a bit difficult to find plussized ones but once I find ’em, they can be real treasures! 🙂
