Last Minute Christmas Gift DIY: Homemade Body Oil

Christmas is just around the corner! I personally do not like to go shopping the last few days before Christmas. I prefer to stay at home and make some last minute DIY gifts. This year, I made some homemade body oils.

Body oils are really easy and fast to make and you can adjust them to your taste, by playing around with different essential oils. I like for example lavender, vanilla, and orange.

Here we go with my simple recipe for a DIY body oil.

For my orange scented body oil, I use:

50ml jojoba oil
50ml coconut oil (use the deodorized one to avoid a strong smell of coconut in your oil)
Around 10 drops of orange essential oil

You can adjust the amount of ml. Just use more essential oils, when you use more carrier oil (this makes sense, doesn’t it 😀 ?).

Make sure to use organic oils and essential oils. The quality is simply so much better! I used the products from Bergland which is a great German brand, producing nothing but high quality organic and natural oils, essential oils and cosmetics.

You may have to warm the coconut oil before blending it with the jojoba oil. Just put the hard oil into a small pot or bowl and heat in a water bath until it is all liquid. Then blend the two carrier oils and add the essential oil.

Have fun playing around with different essential oils for different body oils and make some which are relaxing (lavender), some which are energizing (lemon)  etc. 🙂

You can find a lot of information about the different effects of essential oils on google.

What kind of DIY are you giving away this Christmas? I would love to know!

Next to the body oil, I will give away a lot of homemade chocolate. I will share how I make it, here on the blog, but I am not sure if I will be able to do it before Christmas. So probably this will not come as a last minute Christmas gift idea, but rather as a post-Christmas treat for yourself 😉

I hope you enjoyed this post and I wish you a wonderful rest of the week… the last few days before Christmas eve!

Das ist mir aber auch echt schon oft nicht so gut gelungen.

Just checked out your blog and I love this idea! I use Young Living essential oils for everything but love the idea of mixing jojoba and coconut oil. GENIUS!
