I+M Naturkosmetik Berlin (a Review)

As I promised (here), I am going to show you a few new brands in the beauty area that I have been discovering lately. Today it’s all about i+m. I am actually super surprised that I haven’t heard of i+m before – this brand is producing high quality organic cosmetics since 37 years in Berlin (which is like an hour train drive from where I live). I think I really missed on something in the past years and I am even happier that I finally got to know about the brand – and got to try some of their amazing products.

All i+m products are vegan, fair trade and organic. Only the best ingredients are used in their products and you can really tell so when looking at the ingredients list. From aloe vera over hemp seed oil to subtle essential oil fragrances you can relate to basically all ingredients listed on the packaging. When I buy food, I only buy those products where I can relate to all ingredients listed. I never buy  food which contain things I do not know and which sound unhealthy. Even though I am only using organic and natural cosmetics for a couple of years now, I never thought about doing the same thing for the cosmetic products I choose. Getting to know i+m reminds me again of that. I will try to stick to this and use only products where I can actually relate to all ingredients!

Anyway, so back to i+m. Let me just copy their main goals for you guys:
i+m has two primary goals:
Firstly, as a groundbreaking company in the organics industry, we want to continue to produce the highest-quality natural cosmetics that are as natural as possible and which strive towards long-term effects.
Secondly, we want to be a political cosmetics brand that actively furthers a society based on sustainability and the common good.

Now, basically all brands that I show you here on my blog can more or less me related to the first statement. However, what I really like is the second one. Every business today is political, if they want to or not. Every decision a company (and an individual too of course) is doing at any given time, is a politcal act. Many brands do just ignore this fact, something I find rather corwardly. This is what makes i+m even more likeable to me and which makes me even more curious about this brand.

But now to their products! First of all – how cool is the design? The brand is from Berlin and I think you can really tell from the design that they are. Clean shapes, bright colors, straight design overall. I really like that.

I tried the balancing cream from the Phyto Balance series which was specially developed to meet the needs of combination and oily skin. I do have some problems with outbreaks every now and then ever since pregnancy so I was excited about this one. The Phyto Balance series by i+m uses calming extracts from mallow, elder, arnica and balm to restore the skin´s natural equilibrium. There is also aloe vera in there to moisture the skin. Aloe vera is actually in most i+m creams and this is also why I chose to add some fresh aloe vera to my pictures. I am a huge fan of aloe vera and I am thinking about making a post on how I use the aloe leaves in my daily skin, body and hair care 🙂

But back to the cream; the balancing cream really makes my skin feel good and absorbs nicely without leaving it too dry. I cannot yet tell if it really helps with blemishes but I do believe it will. I use it as a day cream especially on those warmer days that we are (finally!) having since a couple of days.

The other series I got to try is the Freistil series. The Cleansing Milk removes the days grime preparing the facial skin for the intensive face cream which supplies essential lipids with oils of almond and jojoba. It is great on dry skin and I loved to used it on the cold and rainy days that we had last week. Usually when it gets colder I have dry skin and the intensive cream helped me very nicely with this small problem of mine. My skin felt very well nourished and unlike with other creams it did not feel dry five minutes after putting on the cream (with most day creams I have this problem). So I think this one will definetly be my life saver in Fall and Winter.

Have you ever heard of i+m before? You can check out their philosophy and their products on their website: www.iplusm.berlin – they ship all over Europe 🙂

I personally really got to love their face care products and I cannot wait for try their hair and body care!

This seems like such a great brand, Larissa! I think the Phyto Balance line would be more suitable for my particular skin type, since it leans more on the oily side. Thanks so much for sharing, I’ve never heard of this brand before and I hope you’re having a great start to your week so far!

Looks like a really wonderful brand, I haven’t heard about it before, but I really love the ingredients and the philosophy behind it! I really like natural cosmetics, I try to use them more often from some time now. My last great discovery is an avocado oil, I got it from my sister for my birthday some time ago and I really like it. I use it for my face and hair and it’s really good:) I also got this Moroccan natural black soap, but I’ve never tried it yet, have you heard about it?:) Have a lovely day, hugs:)))
