Cosmoetica (a Review)

The spirit of nature on your skin – this is the motto of the Spanish brand Cosmoetica which I got to know a few weeks back on a trade fair for sustainable and organic products. I was fascinated by the pretty design and sophisticated packaging and chatted with one of the founders for a while. The longer we talked the more I got interested in these incomparable products and I was delighted when I got a set of MiBella to try and test for you 🙂

Let me first tell you a little bit more about the brand. All Cosmoetica products are part of their commitment to human beings and to nature; only 100% organic and natural ingredients are used. The name consists basically of the words ethics and cosmos. Why cosmos? The founders believe that the cosmos has the potential to help in selecting and preparing resources and products which are good for your skin and ethical. Their products help the skin to reflect your inner beauty and, as they say, your harmony with the cosmos.

I am showing you quite a few organic, fair trade, and natural cosmetics brands here on the blog but this one here definetly has even higher demands on itself than any of the others. I find it interesting how the cosmos is being part of their philosophy and how the founders believe in the power and influence of good care and ethics that the skin receives. I have to admit that this philosophy appeals to me and that I like this holistic view on skin care.

Now a little more about the two products that I got to test. The MiBella lotion helps to awaken the skins health and beauty every morning and whenever needed. The spray is highly revitalizing and helps to protect the skin against any effects caused by pollution.Especially when used in combination with the MiBella cream, the MiBella lotion helps the skin to adapt to the different situations of the environment, maintaining the level of protection and regeneration.

The cream has an hydrating and nourishing effect and can even be used for cleansing the skin. Liposolible toxics from the environment can be easily removed with a fatty cream like MiBella. Actually (what I found very intersting), depending on how much oil will be left on your skin after using the cream, you can tell how dirty your skin has been! So after having spend a day in the garden the cream will have a totally different effect than after having spend a day in the city center where you are facing loads of smog. The founder of Cosmoetica told me that it is a good idea to use the cream BEFORE washing your face or taking a shower and I was really surprised; and it actually did not make much sense to me – until I tried it myself. I used the cream in the morning before taking my shower and washed it off in the shower. My skin felt so nourished and nice afterwards that I did not feel any need to put on any other product afterwards; even though I basically washed it off in the shower.

The cream can also be used as a night care. At night, I first use the cream, then spray some MiBella lotion on my face and rub it all a little with my fingers.

The cream is pretty nourishing and rich as you can maybe tell from the pictures!? However, when applying it does not feel fat in a bad way at all. I do not have the feeling of having a second skin made of fat but rather my skin feels nicely nourished. I use the spray on top of the cream and massage both a little into my skin for best results. My skin does not look like terribly shiny after applying the cream (something I was suprised about) and even though it is really warm around here these days, the rich texture is not uncomfortable at all. Quite in contrast, I feel like my skin relieves after a day outside in the sunshine.

I am almost sure that you haven’t heard of Cosmoetica before, am I right? The company is Spanish and even in Germany it is still rather small and new to most people. You can check out their website at cosmoetica.net and learn more about this intersting brand. The products are rather pricy, however, considering the fact that you do not need any other creams/lotions/toner you may end up at the same price compared to what you usually spend on day cream, night cream, toner and lotion. Plus you will save a whole lot of packaging and plastic and help the environment by buying less products; which are packed in glas rather than plastic!

I hope you enjoyed this review and I am wishing you a most wonderful week ahead 🙂

I wish they can come in the Philippines. I’d love to give their products a try. The cream seems pretty interesting. 🙂

Meine Haut ist eh eher empfindlich und umso wichtiger finde ich es ein bisschen darauf zu achten was man sich da so ins Gesicht schmiert. 😉
Gut, dass mittlerweile immer mehr Firmen darauf achten.

This seems like a great quality brand and I of course love that it’s all natural and fair trade! You can certainly tell that cream is nursing and thick, which is typically the consistency I prefer in lotions and creams, they’re definitely more nourishing! Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, I’ve never heard of this brand before, but will keep an eye out for it, if does make its way to the States! Have a wonderful day!
