BioNord 2016 (Organic Trade Fair in Hanover)

In my last post I was sharing what I did last weekend on Saturday. Today I will share what I did Sunday! Last Sunday I went to the BioNord 2016, one of the biggest trade fairs for organic products in Germany. The trade fair if mainly for organic food and cosmetic products. I went there for my business and spent most of the day in the food area. However, I took a small hour off to explore the cosmetics section too 🙂

I got to know new products from brands I already know, love and support since a while (such as Primavera) and I also got to know a few brands which were completely new to me. For the blog I decided to concentrate on the cosmetics only and to leave out the food (it simply would be way too much to share everything) but there are one or two or maybe three food items that I will share with you very soon anyway.

But now to the fair stands I found most intersting. First of all there is Primavera. I have been sharing a lot about Primavera on the blog already because their products really are among my absolute favorites when it comes to body oils and face care. I think there is not a single product in the primavera assortment that I would not love to use. They are all really high quality, they smell amazing, and they feel awesome on the skin. I truely love Primavera products. I also got my favorite of all goodies from the Primavera stall: a bath salt which comes with two essential oils so that you can blend your own bath salt depending on your mood. What a great idea! I will definetly put this product on my ‘Christmas gift ideas list’.

I also got some essential oils from Primavera and from Taoasis. I use essential oils a lot as soon as I turn on the heater – I like to put a wet towel on the heater and add a few drops of essential oil to the towel. It immediately makes the whole place smell nice plus the air is not getting too dry (which often happens when using the heater, right!?).

Of course I made sure to say hello at another fair stand from a brand I love: Tanamera! I have been talking about Tanamera a lot on the blog and I especially love their wonderful body and face soaps. I have a huge crush on the black soap and I made sure to take a sample size with me for my upcoming vacation 🙂

I also took the opportunity to stock up on the white body soap that I have been using  a lot recently, and on a few face masks and face scrubs.

But lets talk more about the brands I did not know before this years BioNord trade fair. First of all there is Khadi -an ayuvedic cosmetics brands which I like because they do not do any testing on animals, their products are high quality, with no mineral oils, no chemicals, and with handpicked herbs. And Khadi is also fair trade and their packaging is kept to a basic minimum with many plastic free options. Sounds good to me and I am excited about trying their ayuverdic body and face oil. If I like it, I will make sure to share more about this brand in the future.

Another brand that I found worth of sharing with you is Moosmed. Moosmed is offering a huge variety of hand made soaps – for skin, hair, body, hands, everything. And not only do they produce soaps for different body parts, but also for different needs. Soaps that help fight wrinkles, soaps that help against hair loss, soaps that act like a deodorant! I got a sage soap which is said to work as good as any deodorant when used regulary. I will definetly give it a try and let you know if it works. In case I like the soap, I will make sure to share more about this really intersting brand.

And finally there is Bergland which was also new to me. I stopped at the Bergland stand when I saw that they have wooden lids on their glass bottles of body oil. Most of you know that I try my best to avoid plastic in daily life and I try to buy plastic free cosmetics only. Bergland does not only have wooden lids on their glass bottles but they also have wonderful body oils, lotions and creams for different needs. Some of them even for medical use. I find the brand very intersting and as I especially love to support German brands, I will try my best to share more about them in the future.

The BioNord 2016 was a great trade fair overall. Not only did I get to know a few really interesting new brands in the area of organic cosmetics, but I also got to know a whole lot of new food products which I find very intersting. I will share a few of those in an upcoming “fall favorites” post and maybe make one or two review posts in the future. But for the next few weeks I have a lot of other posts planned and I cannot wait to publish them. I need more time so that I can blog more 😀 . I want to share soooo much with you guys! Anyone knows this feeling?

Wow, I’m such an oil-holic so I sooo love this post! I will definitely give them a try as soon as I see them in stores or anywhere online:) I’m happy your risotto turned out so well, I was sure you can substitute dairy with something vegan and cashew cream sounds delicious! Really great idea:) And I also wanted to share something with you: after you inspired me to use rye flour on my hair, I really like to use it to wash my face everyday:) I use the flour, coffee and a bit of water and sometimes oil – that paste is really so great for my type of skin. Sometimes I like to add some tea (from the teabag) to this, instead of coffee, works so good. Have a lovely weekend, hugs:)))

All these brands sound amazing, beauty, I’ve bookmarked this page to check out their sites later and will be sending a link to my mom, she’s very much into essential oils and so am I. Speaking of, that’s such a great idea, adding drops to a wet towel and placing it on the heater, I’ll have to try that! Thank so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead!

What an great event this sounds like! I am not aware of anything like this that happens near me, but it would so great to go to and check out all the wonderful products. I love the idea of putting some drops of essential oil on a wet towel over the heater, I may have to try that out myself 🙂
