I am blogging so much about fair fashion but I never made a “behind the scenes” post… until today! As I was invited to have a look behind the scences during a shooting for Luxaa Fair Fashion, I decided to share this experience with you.
Currently, everywhere it is all about the new collection. I saw so many Fall/Winter 2017 and Spring/Summer 2018 collections in the past few weeks that I get all confused about which pieces belong where. I enjoy new collections as much as most people do, however, I am not, and never was, much of a trend girl. Slow fashion is made for me. I love wearing the old same basic pieces, timeless styles, and high quality fabrics year after year after year. And this is where Luxaa comes in.
Luxaa is a fair fashion label from Leipzig; my city. What I like about the label is that they are not only fair and sustainable, producing in Germany, being GOTS certified and everything BUT they promote slow fashion. They do create new pieces every now and then and they may even call it a “new collection” but in the end of the day they are just adding to their current collection. In their online shop you can buy both pieces designed three years back and the newest ones. I really like that because I am everything but a fan of fast fashion and trend hunting.
What makes Luxaa so intersting is not only that they do not follow the rules of creating new collections when everyone else is doing, but also the fact that they are working with really innovative fabrics and they are actually constantly working on creating new fabrics (and they have patents on a few, actually).
I learned a lot about materials I didn’t even know existed, when I was visiting the shooting and talked with Anne, who is helping the designer and founder of Luxaa (who’s name is Anne as well, by the way) with marketing and pr. However, in today’s post I will not go too much into detail, as I plan to post more about this label soon 🙂
But just check my pictures here; belts made of wood, jackets made from paper…
The setting for the shooting was a beautiful apartment. Very clean and minimalistic. Just as I like it myself.
And just as the entire Luxaa collection! As you can see on my pictures here, you will have a hard time finding a piece that is not black, white or grey. Some may find that boring, I, however, love it. My wardrobe consists mainly of five colors: grey, white, black, blush, and dark blue. When looking through Luxaa’s webshop it seems like Anne, the designer behind Luxaa, and I, have pretty much the same taste.
It was fun to be part of the shooting, and of course, to get to know the desiger and the other women behind Luxaa.
I will make sure to post more about the label sometime soon. Until then, feel free to visit their shop at Luxxaa.de (free shipping in Germany and shipping internationally)
I hope you enjoyed this little behind the scences post. Did you ever get the chance to do something similar? I would love to know!
