Finally I am back with a fair fashion outfit. It’s been over a month since my last outfit post, even though outfit posts are actually the ones I find most fun to make! Anyway, today is all about the fair fashion accessoires brand SICA that I am featuring in this post. The beautiful hand bag I am wearing in today’s post is from Sica, and it most definetly is the icing on the cake on this little summer look of mine.
So let me tell you a little more about SICA! As stated on their website, SICA’s key motive is to empower communities through design. The Berlin based label is upcycling waste from the garment industry to beautiful, colorful, and modern accessoires; all while preserving traditional crafts in Bangladesh.
The founder, Simone Simonato spends a lot of time in Bangladesh, nurturing the relationship with the makers and local organizations. I met Simone a couple of months ago at the Green Market Berlin and I will meet her again later this month. I am already looking forward to get to know more about her and her label 🙂
So what more to say about this outfit? I am wearing a hyper old blouse from Hess Natur, a German fair fashion label. My mother already used to wear Hess Natur some 30 years ago and this blouse is actually from her! I had to take it to the tailor a couple of times already, because of holes and missing buttons, and I still wear it, and still love it.
The shorts are some four or five years old and have been a regular fast fashion buy at the time when I wasn’t thinking about my decisions as a consumer (or yet, maybe I thought about them but I was not willing yet to change my lifestyle) . The shoes are from the German family owned label Gemini and they are like MY sandals of the season.
Hey, check out these cute earrings by the way! They are from a small jewellery label from the city I live in; Leipzig. Tine from Belle et la Bete is making beautiful jewellery, ranging from simple basics like the ones I am wearing here, to colorful and fun blings. I will show you more here on the blog in the next few outfit posts, so stay tuned for that 🙂
How do you like this little summer outfit of mine? And the bag from SICA? I would love to know!
