Guys, I have such a great PRE CHRISTMAS GIVEAWAY for you! I am giving away a beautiful sweater from BAST Clothing (the same style I am wearing here)! It is all organic and made under fair conditions in India.
I am wearing the exact same sweater right now, while I am writing this and I can tell you that it is super comfy and beautiful. You will of course get a new one and not the one I am wearing 😀
The sweater will be size M, however it runs rather small and I think it will fit best for a regular size S (I am wearing a size L here on the picture and I am 174 cm tall).
To participate in the interview you can comment here on the blog or on my facebook page!
But first a little more about the sweater and about BAST Clothing.
I actually love the story behind the label and I want to share it with you (copied this from their website):
Johanna, the founder comes from a family with a three generation textile business and therefore has the fashion bug inherited. In 2001 she started working in one of Germany´s major luxury fashion brands, Jil Sander. Five years later she accepted a leading position in a huge multi-national fashion company in China. There she learned the Ins and Outs of textile production and became a very successful fashion professional. She knows from first hand experience what it is to negotiate, how to press production prices down to the minimum and what the real working conditions are in the fashion industry.
Though she became more and more successful, she couldn´t find pride in her doings. She saw the workers in the sweatshops that can be so easily forgotten living in Europe and couldn´t help asking herself the same question again and again: Do I agree with this? Can I enjoy my work while knowing that there are others suffering? After much reflection and soul-searching she made the decision to turn her back on the conventional fashion industry in 2012. Since then Johanna used her knowledge and passion in a productive way that doesn´t cause more injustice.
I love to read those kind of stories; people who used to live the conventional way and then began searching for a meaning in their life – and found out that it does not make sense to exploit people. And then it is one thing to realize that, but it is a whole different and very brave decision to actually CHANGE. To buidl up a whole new life and lifestyle and to turn the back to what one used to do.
Hats off from my side dear Johanna!
So about the sweater that you can win; it is 100% organic cotton, made in India. It has a plain white back and pretty details in dark green (almost seems like black) in the front. It runs rather small so if you like to wear things a little oversized you should make sure to order one size up. I am actually wearing a size L here – but I also like it a little oversized.
I am giving away a size M and it does fit me too (I am 174cm), howevr if you a larger than me than I am think it will be too small for you. If you wear a regular size S I think it will fit just perfect. And even on a regular XS I think it will still look oversized cool 🙂
So what else am I wearing here?
I am wearing my super old (ten years!!!) black coat and my almost equally old light pink scarf, both are not fair fashion and I think I did not even know the word “fair fashion” back in the days when I got those 😀
I am also wearing a woolen skirt from Hess Natur which is a German fair fashion label. It is one of my most worn skirts in Winter as it is pretty warm (100% wool) and goes with everything.
My black boots are really old too (6 years or so). I made an insta story about them the other day acutally. It was about sustainability and wearing leather. So these boots are leather boots and ever since I got them I take them to the shoemaker once a year. He is taking care of the leather and glues on new hoes (and every other year new soles too). This way the shoes keep looking like new and I feel they are still as good as the very first day I wore them.
This is why I still like to wear leather; when you take good care of it, it lasts forever and I find this much more sustainbable than to buy new shoes every season. So far I wasn’t able to find vegan shoes that last for much longer than two years and this is why I still have a hard time with vegan shoes… but maybe you can tell me different!?!?
